The Reuben & Groovin’: Why a Great Reuben Never Goes Out of Style
Some sandwiches are trendy. The Reuben is not one of them. It doesn’t need a reinvention, a viral moment, or a fancy new name. It just needs to be done right.
At nosh NY bagels , our Reuben & Groovin’ is our take on one of the great deli classics: a hot, hearty sandwich with the kind of New York deli energy we love bringing to the Lowcountry.
What Makes a Reuben a Reuben?
A classic Reuben is all about contrast: savory meat, melty cheese, tangy sauerkraut, dressing, and bread that can hold up to the whole operation. It’s warm, messy in the best possible way, and absolutely not a sandwich you order when you’re only “a little hungry.”
The ingredients may be straightforward, but a great Reuben depends on balance. Too much of one thing and the whole sandwich gets lost. Get it right, and every bite gives you salty, tangy, creamy, crispy, and melty all at once.
A Little New York Deli Energy in the Lowcountry
For plenty of Northeastern transplants, a good Reuben brings back memories of neighborhood delis, counter seats, and sandwiches that required two hands.
That’s a big part of what nosh is about. We love authentic New York bagels, obviously, but we also love the larger deli culture that comes with them: pastrami, nova lox, whitefish salad, knishes, babka, rugelach, black & white cookies, and a serious hot sandwich at lunchtime.
Breakfast Gets the Attention. Lunch Deserves Some Love.
We know many people first discover nosh because they’re searching for bagels or breakfast near them. But come back around lunchtime and there’s a whole other side of the menu waiting.
The Reuben & Groovin’ is exactly the kind of sandwich we mean when we say nosh isn’t only breakfast. We serve lunch every day at both our Hilton Head Island and Ridgeland locations, with hot sandwiches, deli favorites, wraps, salads, and plenty more.
Take Lunch Seriously
Whether you’re escaping the office, grabbing something before an afternoon on the golf course, or picking up lunch on the way to the beach, sometimes a cold snack isn’t going to do it.
Sometimes you need a Reuben.
Come hungry, bring both hands, and maybe grab a black & white cookie for later.
Eat Greedy.
